Ever wondered how the cupcake professionals achieve that stunning smooth dome finish on their cupcakes? We show you how in just a few simple steps.
Some of you will have seen this done in our other tutorials — this separate tutorial is to cater for those who have not yet perfected this skill. It will also allow us to skip this step in future tutorials, to try to bring the overall length down for our regular viewers, who already know how to cover their cupcakes ☺
You can use fondant OR modeling chocolate (recipe link below) for this tutorial, but bear in mind you cannot pain on modeling chocolate so keep this in mind when you decide which medium to use.
Tools & Equipment:
Shaker with cornflour (cornstarch) or icing sugar
Fondant or modeling chocolate
Circular cookie cutter (a size bigger than the top of your cupcake)
Some frosting (you can use ours — recipe link below, or canned frosting, your own recipe or ganache)
